1 Introduction
Compound excitation DC motor is a DC motor with shunt winding and series excitation winding installed on the main magnetic pole. The excitation winding of the compound excitation motor is divided into two parts, one part is connected in series with the armature winding, and the other part is connected in parallel with the armature winding. Compound DC motors can be used as motors and generators.
